Jude Bellingham, who scored in Sunderland’s victory over Plymouth Argyle, has sent his brother Jobe a message of support.
After joining Sunderland in the summer, Jobe Bellingham has been a constant in the starting lineup, missing only two games before this past weekend.
However, the midfield player had been in dire need of a break lately, so Michael Beale decided to sit him for yesterday’s match against Plymouth and start Patrick Roberts in his place.
After Jobe was brought on as a substitute, Sunderland had already taken the lead against the Pilgrims. However, it didn’t take the teenager long to run practically from the halfway line past several defenders, cut inside, and curl the ball into the top corner to make it three for the Black Cats.
On the same day that his brother Jude scored a brace in Real Madrid’s 4-0 victory against Girona, Jobe scored his fifth goal of the year.
After just 29 appearances across all competitions, Jude has already tallied 20 goals and eight assists, giving Los Blancos a five-point advantage at the top of La Liga.
The 20-year-old made sure to respond to his younger brother’s victory on Wearside despite the festivities in Madrid.
Jude was one of several people who left comments on Jobe’s Instagram post after he celebrated his goal. Before sharing his own picture of Jobe having fun on Instagram, he said, “star boy.” He then captioned the picture, “Good weekend.”
Jobe’s own Instagram story that followed showed a photo of him clapping the supporters with the caption that read: “Pleasure to play here”, followed by a reaction to the Real Madrid star’s brace with a message that read: “El major”.
Will we see Jobe Bellingham at his best now?
Jobe Bellingham’s place on the bench was correct and he could well have put on another underwhelming performance if he was forced to be in from the off, but this slight rest should really give him a boost and the goal will do his confidence the world of good.
It was a sensible decision from Michael Beale, while all fans want is to see the 18-year-old at his best for the rest of the campaign.
When Jobe initially joined Sunderland, he looked amazing, but in recent months, due to a shortage of midfielders, he has been in danger of burning out.
When the young player is performing at his peak, we appear like an entirely different team. However, we also need to remember to give him occasional respite. He remains a human being, although a youthful one.
