Just five months after an education watchdog voiced concerns about a Coventry daycare’s safety procedures, the institution has received nothing but praise. ABC Nursery on Rochester Road, Earlsdon, has had a dramatic turn of events, going from being rated “inadequate” by Ofsted in March to being deemed “good” by inspectors in early August.

In fact, during their most recent visit, which the results of which were released this week, Ofsted authorities hardly spoke a bad word about the childcare. Parents who are ‘very delighted with the service given’, according to the most recent research, seem to share this sentiment.

According to the report, “they feel that the open lines of communication between themselves and nursery staff keep them informed about their child’s progress.” Parents praise the staff’s friendliness, concern, and ability to make their child’s time at nursery joyful.

The report stated, “Managers and staff collaborate together to give kids an engaging atmosphere. They develop a wide range of activities to support kids and fine-tune their learning using data acquired from parents when kids first enter nursery school and their own assessments of kids’ skills.

“Staff integrate activities led by adults into the curriculum to support children’s next learning levels. Numerous resources enable kids to learn on their own initiative and to pursue their own ideas and interests. Only two concerns were mentioned by Ofsted.

According to the watchdog, staff members performed duties that children could execute alone, “which impacts on children’s independence.” The inspector also stated that several of the nursery’s books needed to be repaired so that kids could benefit the most from them.

In stark contrast to the prior inspection, ABC Nursery, which is commemorating its 40th anniversary this month, received praise for its safeguarding practices. A requirement that “destroys an aspect of practice for addressing children’s safety” was highlighted in March as “breaching a requirement.”
