Nottingham Forest are keen to offload Divock Origi in the last week of the January transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.

The 28-year-old has featured sparingly for Forest this term and does not figure in the plans of Nuno Espirito Santo going forward.

Origi is on loan at the City Ground from Serie A giants AC Milan, who would need to cancel his Forest deal if he finds a new club.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that the Midlands club are “desperately trying” to offload the Belgium international before next week’s (1 February) deadline.

It is believed the forward is on more than £100,000-a-week at Forest.

Origi has played just nine times across all competitions in the 2023-24 campaign so far and has not made a matchday squad in 2024 so far.

It was widely reported upon his arrival that Forest inserted an option-to-buy in the agreement with AC Milan.

But Origi is now set to move elsewhere after a disappointing two years since leaving Liverpool on a free transfer.

He hit just two goals in 36 games for AC Milan last term.

In 175 appearances in all competitions, the adaptable attacker netted 41 goals and provided 18 assists for Liverpool.

During his tenure on Merseyside, Origi won the FA Cup, League Cup, Premier League, and Champions League.
