Manchester United may be interested in Crystal Palace winger Eberechi Eze, according to reports in Spain.

Manchester United is reportedly mulling a transfer for Eberechi Eze, a winger for Crystal Palace.

Michael Olise, the Eagles’ lucky charm who has missed the majority of the season due to injury, has been the center of attention in recent weeks. Nine games and five goals later, he’s become a rumored target for many Premier League clubs.

Only in November did the 25-year-old sign a new deal, with Palace manager Roy Hodgson making hints that he had committed to the team for the long run.

“I’m delighted for the club and pleased for Ebere as well,” the manager said. “He’s done so well in the three years he’s been with us and it’s great to know that he’s pledged his future to the club.

“That says a lot about his confidence in where the football club is going and what we can achieve here because his ambition is to establish himself in the English national team. He obviously believes, in signing that long contract, we can get him there. For us, having him on the field every week is a major bonus, because of the threat he poses to the opposition.”

However, according to Spanish publication Fichajes, United would still proceed with their plan despite the new agreement. This season, wide has presented a dilemma for Erik ten Hag due to Jadon Sancho’s well-documented circumstances prior to his loan departure and £85 million Antony’s form struggles.

Eze, an England international, would give the Red Devils a track record of success in the top division and might be looking to move with Euro 2024 approaching. The research does, however, also show how far apart the two teams are in terms of valuation.

Palace wants to pay £20 million more for Eze, but United is willing to pay over £70 million for him. The winger, who has three goals and two assists in the league this season, is valued at £45 million by football analysis website transfermarkt.com.
