Liam Manning has been given the opportunity to replace the creativity that Alex Scott’s sale sold, and Nigel Pearson was not permitted to do so.

Twine enjoyed a loan spell at Hull earlier in the window but Twine was recalled by Burnley and sent on loan to Ashton Gate. It’s back to the west country for Twine, who was came through Swindon’s youth academy before moving to MK Dons where he enjoyed his breakout, and he’ll be hoping to become the star creative figure of the side.

Liam Manning will be hoping to utilise Twine in the same manner he did at Stadium:MK, where his twenty goals took them to the League One play-offs before falling against Wycombe in the semi-finals – though Pearson could feel frustrated at the move.

Twine was highly heralded as an outstanding signing for Burnley upon his move to Turf Moor under Vincent Kompany in summer 2022 but the attacking midfielder had the worst possible start to life in East Lancashire after picking up an injury shortly after his first game for the club.

The master of free kicks had a lengthy absence—he didn’t play in a Claret shirt until December—but game time was scarce because the team was competing fiercely in the Championship. That went on until the conclusion of the season, at which point Burnley’s elevation meant even less playing time for the Swindon-born sensation, prompting Hull to step in and sign him on loan in the summer.

The former MK Dons player had a respectable stint at the Tigers, scoring four goals and providing three assists. However, a loan stay that will last until the end of the season has already been agreed upon, and it is now his chance to shine at Ashton Gate under former Dons manager Liam Manning.

Why Twine’s signing could make Nigel Pearson feel justified in his anger

The excitement surrounding emerging prospect Alex Scott overshadowed City’s previous season almost entirely. After an FA Cup match between the Robins and Manchester City, the 19-year-old midfielder received a spot in the Championship Team of the Season and praise from none other than Pep Guardiola for his exceptional play for the team throughout the year.
