Plymouth Argyle is showing interest in Leeds United’s Darko Gyabi. Per a report by Football Insider, negotiations between the Pilgrims and the Whites regarding the midfielder’s signing have begun.

Gyabi has only made two senior appearances at Elland Road this season due to a lack of playing time. Last summer, he was rumored to be moving, with Swansea City, Fleetwood Town, and Valenciennes all reportedly showing interest in signing him.

Argyle is reportedly working on the deal despite losing Luke Cundle and Finn Azaz this month, according to the article. Their two loan periods at Home Park ended prematurely.

Despite being a member of United’s roster since 2022, Gyabi has only made five appearances since joining from Manchester City. Plymouth, who are presently dwindling in the Championship, has also been connected to Joe Gelhardt, a teammate of Gyabi’s with the Whites.

Offers for Whites target Nathaniel Ajdei have been rejected by Hammarby. According to the sporting director of the Swedish team, Mikael Hjelmberg, they have had offers for several players this month.

Ajdei was linked to Sunderland, Preston North End, United, and Middlesbrough earlier in the season. Speaking to Fotbollskanalen, Hjelmberg stated: “We would prefer that all three of our players stay at Hammarby, but we have denied offers for all three of them.

“The players and I have also had a decent, reasonably open discussion about it. No significant anomalies have occurred.

“Now the season is about to start and if we’re going to sell one of the best goalkeepers in the Swedish league, for example, we need to get paid for it. But we must also feel that we have an equivalent replacement on the way and we have not done that.”
