Brentford technical director Lee Dykes declined to confirm or deny on Tuesday whether his club is willing to make an offer for Real Betis’ Assane Diao.
The 18-year-old earned his first-team debut earlier this season and has four goals in 18 outings. Several clubs, including Brentford, have expressed interest in him.
New developments in this case have occurred in the “last few hours.”
The winger is pleased and believes it will benefit his career to remain with the La Liga club. Real Betis, on the other hand, has to sell some players, and if Dia receives a good offer, his departure would be beneficial to the club.
Brentford are reportedly ‘waiting for word from England’ as they try to sign the Spain U21 international. Thomas Frank’s team is thought to be eager to make an offer, although Real Betis has yet to receive one.
Real Betis are willing to collaborate on Diao’s transfer as long as the price, including bonuses, comes near to his €30 million clause.
Manuel Pellegrini’s team is awaiting Brentford’s offer, and if they do, there is a significant probability of a trade being completed. If not, according to Mucho Deporte, another English club could sign Diao in the winter market.
