The Celtics fans will give anything to have Jota return to Parkhead. This is a rumor that has been circulating for a little while. But is it truly possible?

The Portuguese star has essentially been out of the picture at Al-Ittihad his entire career after moving from Celtic for a fee of £25 million in the summer.

Nuno Espirito Santo was fired, and he is currently traveling to Nottingham Forest for negotiations, according to Mark Guidi, who believes that is where the 24-year-old could end up right now.

“Espirito Santo is flying in for talks with Nottingham Forest and, of course, the former Rangers director of football Ross Wilson is in a similar role at Nottingham Forest so he will have a bit of say,” Guidi added [The Go Radio Football Show].

“I wonder, if we’re just joining the dots, if Nuno Espirito Santos does get that job, does that open the door for Jota to go there on loan in January given that Santos signed them for the Saudi Arabian club?”

Is Jota going back to Celtic?
According to reports from yesterday night, his club is eager for him to come back to Glasgow. According to rumors from Saudi Arabia, Al-Ittihad had gotten in touch with Celtic over a potential loan move for Jota, according to The Glasgow Times.

But let us be honest: Jota has little chance of returning to Celtic, even with the greatest of intentions, unless the Saudi club pays the great majority of his wage.

The next query would be, is Jota inclined to go back to Scotland as well? He would be going back to a vastly different club from the one he left after two seasons at Celtic.

Jota may be considering a move to Tottenham in an attempt to revive his friendship with the former Celtic manager now that Ange Postecoglou is not in charge.

With all due respect, Jota is free to go a far larger club than Nottingham Forest. In the English Premier League, the fallen giants are battling in 17th position.

Jota’s kind of player would not fare well in a dogfight. He wants a squad that plays wide-ranging football, and the Spurs appear to be the ideal choice.

Jota to Celtic, then? Although I believe this is one that even Santa could not take out of his sack, it would make a wonderful Christmas gift.

In other news, James McCarthy’s transfer to the Celtics really cost him a lot more.
