Sunderland AFC transfer news and speculation from around the web ahead of the January transfer window.

Sunderland are being linked with a number of players despite the fact that the January transfer window is still more than a month away. Here are some of the most recent Black Cats transfer rumors and news from around the web.

Sunderland were one of numerous Championship clubs linked with Peterborough winger Kwame Poku last week, with West Brom, Millwall, Ipswich, Bristol City, and Stoke also reportedly interested in the 22-year-old.

Despite the fact that the Robins are eager to add attacking players,  Poku is ‘not currently under consideration as a transfer target’ at Ashton Gate.

Nathaniel Adjei has piqued the interest of many people.

Another player connected with Sunderland is Ghanaian centre-back Nathaniel Adjei, who is under contract with Swedish club Hammarby until 2026.

Celtic, Rangers, Middlesbrough, and Leeds have also been linked, with Belgium’s reporting that the 21-year-old is a realistic option for Anderlecht at a sum of £3-4 million. According to the source, Standard Liege are interested in Adjei, but the defender is likely out of their price range.

Latest on Amad

Finally, Amad, a former Sunderland loanee, is anticipated to return to Manchester United in the coming weeks. The 21-year-old has been out with a knee injury since pre-season, but he has recently posted videos of himself training at Carrington.

Sunderland were keeping an eye on Amad’s condition after his loan stay at the Stadium of Light, but he remained at Old Trafford. However, another financing agreement may be feasible in January.
