Last night in the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup, Harry Arter commanded and participated for Nottingham Forest Under-21.

Gedling Miners Welfare of the United Counties Division One was faced by a youthful Reds team.

After making an appearance on loan for Notts County during the 2021–2022 season, Arter has not participated in a professional football match. He only appeared in nine games at Meadow Lane, and he hasn’t participated in a senior game since.

The midfielder has proven difficult for the Reds to let go of. The midfielder’s current salary at Forest is £40,000 per week because of a clause included to his 2020 contract that increased his salary should the team win promotion.

Arter captains Forest B-Team

Arter could still be working for someone in the EFL at the age of 33. Rather, he is working out with the B-Team and providing some light tutoring to the younger players alongside Warren Joyce.

He helped the Reds defeat a resolute Gedling team 4-1 last night to go to the Nottinghamshire Senior Cup quarterfinal.

Who scored the four goals the B-Team managed to score last night is unknown. But Arter wasn’t listed on Forest’s scoresheet, and it’s likely that he didn’t play all ninety minutes.

Reds will struggle to offload Arter now

The midfield player will now be difficult for the Reds to let go of. When Arter’s contract expires in the summer, it won’t be possible for Forest to let him go quickly enough.

Shortly after making a splash with Fulham in the Championship, Arter signed with Forest. On the surface, it appeared to be a good addition, and he assisted them in getting promoted to the Premier League.

It has, however, turned out to be, to put it mildly, a terrible agreement. He has only played in 14 games for the team, and he has trained more away from the senior ranks than he has within.

Fortunately, we’ve progressed past embarrassing incidents like these in terms of hiring. This Arter deal ought to be the last of its kind involving Forest.
