The Spaniard took over Lexington SC as manager for the first time, although he was only there for a month.

Nacho Novo, a hero for the Rangers, has shocked everyone by leaving USL League One team Lexington SC.

We previously reported in September about the Gers hero’s first managerial position in the US following a stint as the team’s under-23 manager and assistant coach. However, the 44-year-old has made the decision to resign from his position as head coach after just four weeks. “Well, today I said bye to Lexington,” the man posted on Instagram. The season was good. We appreciate all of the athletes and supporters. Success in the upcoming season.”

Novo, a favorite at Ibrox, took over from personal friend Sam Stockley, who stepped aside to focus on his job as sporting director. But in his five games in charge, the diminutive Spaniard lost two and drew three, failing to win any of them.

The Kentucky-based team ended the season there after he took over the American third-tier team when they were ranked ninth in the 12-team league.

Novo continued, posting a photo of himself celebrating a goal during his playing days with the Rangers. “Thanks everyone for your support,” he said. I’ll be returning.
