Andre Gomes of Everton isn’t a typical Sean Dyche type of player.
Andre Gomes of Everton isn’t your usual Sean Dyche player, but Ben Winstanley, host of A View From The Bullens, explained to GIVEMESPORT why we might see him play this season.
At Goodison Park, the Toffees require every available help, although Gomes hasn’t played yet this season.

Gomes, who makes £120,000 a week in Merseyside, transferred from Barcelona to Everton for a cost of £22 million after first spending a season on loan, according to Sky Sports. The Portuguese midfielder was brilliant throughout his first few seasons with the team, but he had a terrible injury in 2019 that kept him out for an extended amount of time. Ever since, he has found it difficult to contribute to the Toffees’ offense.
Due to yet another injury, the 30-year-old hasn’t played a single minute for Dyche this season. His contract is set to expire next summer, so it will be intriguing to see where he goes from here. Everton were open to consider bids for Gomes, according to journalist Paul Brown, who told GIVEMESPORT during the summer transfer window, but no deal materialized.

The Toffees might need him – Ben Winstanley
Although Gomes isn’t your usual Dyche player, Winstanley has stated that the Toffees might need him at some point this season. The host continues by saying that Everton’s roster just isn’t large enough for him to start should injuries arise. Winstanley said in a statement to GIVEMESPORT that…
“In regards to Gomes, he’s probably the least Dyche player I’ve ever seen. He’s unwilling to put the hard graft in, doesn’t really make many tackles. He’s a very technically possession-based footballer and Everton this season aren’t going to have a lot of possession. They’re just not. Now, he is a body, he can play there, and if we are ultimately losing games, when teams go back and they drop 10, 15 feet backwards, you might be able to throw the likes of Gomes on. He might be able to be the one that unlocks that midfield, but as I touched on earlier, Everton are so short in the midfield that we’re going to need bodies. We’re going to need every single man. I don’t expect Gomes to start week in week out.”
