LIVERPOOL TOLD ANFIELD SUPERSTAR WOULD NOT JOIN BARCELONA DUE TO RUMOURS

Mohamed Salah, according to Mark Schwarzer, will not join another Premier League team, nor will he leave Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool for La Liga heavyweights Barcelona or Real Madrid.

This comes amid speculation that the Liverpool superstar could be on his way to Saudi Arabia, with the Middle East transfer window still open after the English Premier League window closed on Friday.

It wouldn’t be surprising if some fans are still concerned about Mohamed Salah securing a potentially world-record transfer to Al-Ittihad this summer – if that occurs, they are expected to sign two Bayern Munich players.

You’d think that if the 31-year-old left Anfield, he’d join another European powerhouse rather than go to Saudi Arabia, but former goalie Schwarzer insists a move to Barcelona will ‘absolutely not’ happen in the future, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

As the Egypt international demonstrated in the early stages of the new season in the previous campaign, he can still win huge prizes with the top teams.

But, if Saudi Arabia is serious about elevating their league to the pinnacle of success, everything is conceivable.

“Of course, the money draws his attention at first,” said Schwarzer. “But because of religion and the chance to be the face of a league.”

“I don’t think Mo Salah would want to leave Liverpool for any other club, let alone one in the Premier League.”

“And, aside from that, would he still be able to join Real Madrid, Barcelona, or whoever else there is?”

“Absolutely not in Barcelona.” That will not happen. And I don’t think so for Real Madrid. I believe they have shifted their focus. Kylian Mbappe is their goal, and that is where it will end.”

For the past 30 years, the English Premier League has outspent every other league in terms of finances and has attracted the top players and managers.

As a result, after struggling prior to 1992, they now claim to be the best league in the world.

Those in Saudi Arabia are simply doing what the Premier League has been doing for the past 30 years; it’s only more savage, faster in its change, and considerably more expensive.
