Ameen Al Dakhil, a defender for Burnley, has been forced to withdraw from the Belgium team for the next international matches due to an injury.

Zinho Vanheusden, a defender on loan from Standard Liege, has been recalled in his place by Domenico Tedesco. The 24-year-old player, who transferred from Standard to Inter in 2021, is now on loan at Standard. Despite spending time on loan at Genoa and AZ Alkmaar, Vanheusden has yet to play for Inter.

The defender has served as the team’s captain thus far this season under Carl Hoefkens. The defender’s career has been dogged by injuries ever since he made his mark at Standard, but so far this season he has managed to start all 10 league games for the team, playing the entire 90 minutes in each game.

With a win over Austria on Friday, Belgium will be guaranteed a spot in the 2024 European Championships. The team is presently in first place in the division, tied with Austria in points.
