Heung-min Son was named Tottenham Hotspur captain soon before the start of the 2023-2024 season, succeeding Hugo Lloris, and James Maddison and Cristian Romero were made vice-captains.

The three players combined for five goals in the Lilywhites’ massive win over the Clarets, with Son the star of the show with a hat-trick – his fifth since joining the north London side from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015.

After Lyle Foster scored in the fourth minute, Son equalized with a beautiful chip over the goalkeeper, added his second of the afternoon in the 63rd minute, and completed his hat trick three minutes later.

Udogie provided an assist for the second consecutive Premier League game, this time setting up Maddison for Tottenham’s third goal in the 54th minute.

The Italian-Nigerian left-back praised Son for his hat-trick and highlighted the South Korean’s influence in the Tottenham Hotspur locker room.

“Son is a fantastic player, and I’m thrilled for him.” “He helped us win the game today, and we’re moving on,” Udogie told Spurs Play after the victory.

“He’s a true leader, a nice guy, he talks to us every day, and he showed a strong mentality on the pitch, which is the most important thing.”

Udogie played his first 90 minutes for Tottenham Hotspur in yesterday’s triumph over Burnley.
