Following their blunder against RCD Mallorca in midweek, Barcelona got back on track Friday night with a 1-0 victory over Sevilla.

On Friday, Barcelona’s news was not all good, though, as they lost yet another important team member to injury.

In fact, Raphinha suffered a thigh injury in the first half and is now anticipated to miss close to a month, leaving a void in Barça’s forward line.

Ferran Torres most likely to start

Barcelona face FC Porto in their second UEFA Champions League Group H match of the season next Tuesday, and manager Xavi Hernandez has a big decision to make regarding his starting options. Robert Lewandowski and Joao Felix are almost certain to start, leaving the right flank as a question mark. Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal will be competing for the spot, and SPORT

After all of the discussion over his future in the summer, the 23-year-old has had a good season so far. Xavi has lauded his mentality and referenced him as an example in the locker room on multiple occasions.

Lamine Yamal played well against Sevilla and assisted on the only goal of the game. Torres, on the other hand, made an impact after coming on as a substitute against the Andalusian outfit, and was involved in the sequence that resulted in Sergio Ramos’ own goal.

Xavi has stated on numerous occasions that he does not want to burden Yamal at this age, while also stating that he requires defensive wingers.

As a result of his work rate and more expertise in the strong atmosphere that the Champions League provides, the former Manchester City star might be the preferred option for the Champions League showdown against Porto.
