Eberechi Eze, a standout for Crystal Palace, is already being targeted by Manchester United for a summer transfer.

As part of a roster overhaul, United brought in five new players during the summer while letting go of thirteen players at Old Trafford, where a new football system has now been established.

According to the Manchester Evening News, plans are already being made for the upcoming year, and 26-year-old Eze is one of the choices under consideration.

The Londoner was linked to Manchester City and Tottenham during the summer transfer window. He finished the previous season with 11 Premier League goals and four assists.

After Michael Olise left to sign a £50 million contract with Bayern Munich, Eze stayed in southeast London, and Steve Parish, the chairman of Palace, expressed his surprise that Eze wasn’t receiving more attention.

With United’s interest, that might alter in the upcoming year. A £68 million release clause is apparently attached to the England international, and it will reactivate the following year.

After unloading Jadon Sancho, United now have four wingers on their roster, with Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo, and Antony all competing for first-team spots.

Rashford’s form has been a concern for over a year however with Antony still to struggling to justify his £85m price tag, managing just one minute of game time so far this season.

United are also expected to maintain their interest in Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite.

United saw two bids for Branthwaite rejected by Everton this summer – the first £35m plus £10m in add-ons followed by a second of £45m plus £5m in add-ons.

Both offers were immediately rejected with Everton valuing their prized asset in the excess of £70m – believing his excellent form last season and the fees paid for Harry Maguire, Wesley Fofana and Josko Gvardiol in recent years make that a fair price.

United went onto sign Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt as part of their defensive revamp but could return with another offer next summer.

United’s provisional plans for next summer are to sign a defender, another midfielder and a winger.
