Nottingham Forest’s 2024–25 campaign is off to a fantastic start as they have already scored five points.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been given the chance to evaluate the first three league games as the international break lingers in the background.

This follows a hectic transfer window over the previous three months that saw a lot of players coming and going from the City Ground.

Still, agreements are being completed in some windows that did not close last Friday as they did in England.

And the only other verified deal that Forest has made is with a guy named Steve Cooper, who was signed in 2022.

Nottingham Forest have finally sold Steve Cooper signing

During Cooper’s time at the club, one of the many players to have been signed was the South Korean forward Ui-jo Hwang.

It would be fair to say Hwang has not enjoyed the best of spells in England having failed to rack up a single minute for the Reds.

And since landing at the City Ground, the£4mHwang has been sent out on four separate loan deals across Europe.

However, on Friday it was announced Hwang had finally departed Forest on a permanent basis to sign for the Turkish outfit Alanyaspor.

The 32-year-old spent the latter stages of last season out in Turkey where he was able to provide a goal and an assist across his eight appearances.
Hwang had also spent some time in the Championship with Norwich City last season where he scored three goals in 17 games.

But having failed to even record a minute for the Reds, his time has now come to an end at the City Ground.

Forest could have benefitted from another striker signing this summer

It has been a bright start to the season for Chris Wood who has been able to find the back of the net twice in his opening three league games.

The New Zealand striker thought he had netted his third of the season and the winner on the weekend against Wolves but it was chalked offside.

After scoring 15 last time around, this is exactly the start to the campaign which he, Nuno and the fans would have dreamt for.

However, failing to land any of their striker targets, there will be a lot riding on Wood being able to remain fit this season.
