After a late PSR scare at the end of June, Newcastle United was able to raise the money needed to stave off a possible deduction of points.

Now that they have a roster ready to go back to the Champions League, the Magpies may look forward to adding more players.

Marc Guehi is one of Newcastle’s top targets, and Eddie Howe is eager to add defenders to the team.

They will go after his teammate, though, if they are unable to close that deal.

Newcastle could sign Joachim Anderson

GiveMeSport claims that if Newcastle is unable to reach an agreement to sign Marc Guehi, they may turn to Joachim Anderson.

Despite their best efforts over the past few weeks, the Magpies have not been able to meet Palace’s demands, which total approximately £60 million.

Their first offer, which was for £50 million, was rejected by Palace, but if a move for Anderson becomes available, it’s assumed that focus would shift to the Denmark international, who is estimated to be worth about £40 million.

Joachim Anderson statistics

Given his FBref stats, Anderson would be an equally enticing addition if Newcastle were to make a move for him. When it comes to clearances per ninety, the 28-year-old is among the top six percent of positional counterparts in Europe.

In addition, he ranks among the top 4% of players for predicted assisted goals, demonstrating his ability to create opportunities from deep.

Anderson, who has been called “outstanding” (We Are Palace) and had a £20 million deal turned down earlier this week, is another player that Fulham is attempting to sign.
