According to reports, Leicester City has spoken with Ajax about the prospect of acquiring Steven Bergwijn before the summer transfer window ends.

After joining Ajax from Tottenham Hotspur in July 2022, the 26-year-old has played 76 games for the team, tallying 29 goals and racking up 11 assists.

With three years remaining on his contract with the Amsterdam giants, Bergwijn is being strongly linked to a move away.

‘Several clubs’ are eager to sign him, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, and Leicester is one of those clubs hoping to get him this summer.

Romano claims that the Foxes have already been in touch with Ajax to learn the Dutch club’s asking price.

Bergwijn previously played in England for Tottenham between 2020 and 2022, representing the club on 83 occasions, scoring eight goals and registering nine assists in the process.

Atletico ‘in advanced talks’ over deal for Guerra

A transfer for Javi Guerra is apparently being discussed in advance by Atletico Madrid and Valencia. Since joining Valencia’s first squad, the 21-year-old has made 51 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and dishing out one assist.

The future of the Spaniard has been the subject of much speculation, with teams like Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly showing interest. Atletico, though, appears to be in a strong position to get his signing right now.

According to The Athletic, Diego Simeone‘s side have agreed to pay €25m (£21.4m) plus add-ons for the midfielder, but Valencia are still holding on for a sell-on clause of 15% to be included.

Guerra was a regular for Los Che during the 2023-24 campaign, scoring four goals and registering one assist in 40 appearances in all competitions, with 36 of those outings coming in La Liga.

West Ham ‘willing to sell’ Ings

In other news, Danny Ings may be sold by West Ham United during the summer transfer window.

After joining the Hammers in January 2023 from Aston Villa, Ings has made 52 appearances for the London team, tallying two assists and four goals.

The 32-year-old is in the last year of his contract at the London Stadium, and West Ham is reportedly eager to let him depart this summer, according to Football Insider.

According to the source, Ings’ departure might make it easier for West Ham to sign a forward this summer.

Niclas Fullkrug, a striker from Borussia Dortmund, was the first player the Hammers acquired during the current transfer window. However, the club is reportedly hoping to sign another attacking player before the transfer window shuts.
