West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus is wanted by two Saudi Pro League clubs and has been offered a huge contract to make the move.

TEAMtalk reported on 17 July that both Al Nassr and Al-Ittihad are keen on the Hammers winger, and a contract equivalent to £212,000-per-week has been tabled to the Ghanaian’s agent.

Both teams are owned by the country’s Public Investment Fund and are yet to receive a response from Kudus, whom the Irons’ hierarchy will be keen to keep hold of having only signed him 12 months ago.

West Ham must prevent Mohammed Kudus transfer this summer

While such a sizeable offer being tabled to Kudus could well turn his head towards a move, the player’s recent comments on his focus ahead of pre-season could give Irons fans hope that he’ll stay put [The Athletic, 4 July].

Regardless of the seismic wages on offer to the Ghanaian, the Hammers won’t sanction a transfer unless the financial package works from their end too, having shelled out £38million to sign Kudus last summer.

Mohammed Kudus has been a revelation since joining West Ham United from Ajax just last summer

However, the nature of the salary on offer to Kudus suggests that neither Al Nassr or Al-Ittihad will have many problems in paying a fee that would be well-received in East London, however much that may be.

Kudus’ eight Premier League goals and a further five in the Europa League last season have sent his stock through the roof, with the Irons unlikely to accept anything less than £85million for the forward.

A release clause of exactly that amount has now expired, leaving the Hammers in the driving seat to prevent a transfer being sanctioned, and given the immediate impact he’s made, the club certainly won’t be letting Kudus leave on anyone’s terms but theirs this summer [Frank McAvennie, 9 July].
