Newcastle United co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi are to leave the club after three years, it has been reported.

The husband and wife took a ten per cent share in the Premier League side in 2021 when they helped to orchestrate the £305m Saudi Arabian-backed takeover.

Since then, they have decreased their share to six per cent while Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and the Reuben family have increased theirs.

BBC Radio Newcastle is now reporting that the pair have sold all remaining shares and will leave the club.

Since being at Newcastle, Staveley and Ghodoussi hired manager Eddie Howe and signed players including Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier.
