Brighton & Hove Albion could be closing in on another signing, after they completed the signing of Mats Wieffer.

Under new manager Fabian Hurzeler, Brighton & Hove Albion have been relatively busy in the transfer market and have confirmed a £30 million deal has been struck to sign Mats Wieffer.

The signing of the Dutch midfielder could be pivotal with HITC reporting that Arne Slot’s Liverpool were keen on the former Feyenoord star.

Well, it appears that Brighton could be closing in on yet another signing in the form of Brighton could be closing in on another signing IFK Goteberg winger Malick Yalcouye.

Swedish outlet FotbolSkanalen claim that the winger finished training with his club early with a move to the South Coast reportedly imminent.

In a pre-match press conference, Göteborg manager Stefan Billborn was asked about the midfielder leaving training early, and his comments are relayed by Expressen.

“If it’s shoe chafing or a sprained eyebrow, you have to adapt a bit. I have no problem with that. If they tell us to be a little careful, then I’m smart enough that we take him off. We don’t risk anything,” he said.

When quizzed further whether it had to do anything with his impending move, Billborn explained: “Yes, it is highly likely that it could be so. He could have played. But you don’t know, it could be that the papers might be torn and then it will be 90 minutes on Sunday too.”

The player has made 14 appearances for Göteborg since joining them from Ivory Coast based side ASEC Mimosas at the start of this year.Yalcouye has been compared to a former Manchester United and Arsenal striker by one of his current teammates.

After scoring a header for Goteberg back in April, IFK teammate Thomas Santos said: “I was surprised. It was almost like Robin van Persie when he jumps like that.

“It was very well done, I’m very happy for him that he gets to score his first goal. He can do everything, you can see that he can do everything on the pitch.”
