Michael Olise’s transfer cost and player contract have been agreed upon, and Bayern Munich is almost certain to sign him, but Manchester United may present competition.

According to Soccernet.ng, Michael Olise, a forward for Crystal Palace, is about to give up on his dream of playing internationally for his father’s nation.

The 22-year-old is qualified to play for England, Nigeria, France, and Algeria. He was born in England to a Nigerian father and a French-Algerian mother.

Having represented France at the youth level—France U-18 and U-21—Olise is now eyeing further representation of the country at the senior level.

According to Germany-based journalist Florian Plettenberg, Olise is considering representing France at the upcoming Summer Olympics after being snubbed for the Euro 2024 squad.

Despite his strong performances throughout his club’s 2023–24 season, Didier Deschamps’ decision to leave him out of the Euro 2024 squad gave Nigerians optimism for a chance to represent their country.

Recent reports reveal that the Super Eagles-eligible forward is close to joining Bayern Munich, having agreed on a transfer fee and contract with the Allianz Arena outfit.

Bayern is considering the request and is aware of the circumstances. But no firm decision has been made as of yet. Olise would therefore miss Bayern’s tour to South Korea, which is slated to take place from July 31 to August 5.

But according to recent sources, Manchester United is trying to sabotage Olise’s transfer, who has also caught the Reds’ attention, despite these agreements.
