For different reasons, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United both view the next season as extremely essential.

The team led by Nuno Espirito Santo narrowly avoided relegation in the previous season, finishing with 32 points, one spot above the bottom three.

The fact that Burnley, Luton Town, and Sheffield United were the three teams that had emerged a year earlier is indicative of the direction that English football is taking.

Newcastle looking at Forest’s Antony Elanga

If Forest can retain onto players like Anthony Elanga, they will be in a better position to improve their performance in 2024–2025 and avoid becoming just another “yo yo” team.

Sadly, TeamTalk claims that Newcastle wants to sign the star to take Miggy Almiron’s spot.

Elanga is a touch “raw” because he is still honing his skills, but his natural speed and eye for goal would be a benefit to the Magpies, especially since Eddie Howe prefers to have his wide players attack plays from the start.

Given how hard Elanga has worked for Forest since leaving Manchester United, it’s unclear at this time whether they would agree to any transfer.

Given that the Swedish international could put the money toward other parts of the team, the 22-year-old would undoubtedly be able to command a sizable sum from interested parties, which might be enough to convince the Forest management.

Anyone associated with the team is probably not interested in another relegation struggle in 2024–2025.

It is unclear if Newcastle would first show any interest, and if so, whether Forest will be persuaded to sell by their offer.
