Wrexham continue to chase new signings this summer as Phil Parkinson looks to bolster his squad for the upcoming League One campaign.

July is now upon us and that means the new season is getting closer and closer.

Wrexham’s fixture list was confirmed last week and Phil Parkinson will already have one eye on the big kick-off against Wycombe Wanderers on August 10th.

There is a lot of work for Wrexham to be done before that game though with a busy pre-season schedule on the horizon.

Wrexham need signings in through the door too; Arthur Okonkwo is the only new addition so far.

More signings will be targeted and with Millwall striker Tom Bradshaw wanted, Wrexham are now eyeing one of his former teammates.

Wrexham keen on Ryan Longman

Parkinson may have enjoyed watching Millwall last season.

Welsh international striker Bradshaw is wanted at the STōK Cae Ras and now Ryan Longman is wanted too.

The Mirror report that Wrexham are keen to sign Longman after spending last season on loan at Millwall from Hull City.

It’s noted that Longman is in the final year of his contract at Hull and is likely to be sold.

Wrexham fancy signing the 23-year-old but Millwall want him back permanently – and Birmingham City are interested too.

Longman is even thought to have interest from abroad, so Wrexham face a real battle for his signature.

Who is Wrexham target Longman?

Longman came up in the Brighton and Hove Albion ranks and was given a first-team debut back in September 2019.

That was the only appearance Longman made for the club though and after impressing with nine goals in 52 games for AFC Wimbledon in the 2020-21 season, Longman headed to Hull City on loan.

The Tigers turned the move permanent in a £1.5million deal, with Longman racking up 73 appearances for the club before heading to Millwall.

Longman played 35 times for the Lions, chipping in with three goals and three assists whilst being hailed for his ‘excellent’ attributes by Neil Harris.

Versatility is a major factor with Longman, who can play on either flank as a winger or wing back, and has even played as a striker too.

The ability to play on either side may appeal to Wrexham, viewing Longman as competition in both wing back spots moving forward.

Beating Millwall and Birmingham won’t be easy but Wrexham will have hope of winning the race and landing another coup in the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds era.
