Everton have already been far more active than anyone could have possibly predicted this summer, and the hope is that there is more to come.

However, with PSR having devastated their most recent campaign, Sean Dyche and Kevin Thelwell will still be petrified of risking anything ahead of such a monumental season.

This will be the Toffees’ final year at Goodison Park before they trade it for the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium, and so they will want to ensure that a successful season is assured.

That could be earned through the progression of those already at the club, but also through some more shrewd signings.

Armando Broja breaks silence on transfer rumours

Given Everton have been linked with Armando Broja for some time now, it should come as no surprise that any transfer update on the Albania international is one that this fanbase should take heed of.

After all, a potential move could certainly be on the cards, even moreso now that the June 30th PSR deadline has passed.

It almost seems coincidental that Broja therefore came out, speaking to RTV Klan (via Calciomercato), to offer an update on his future.

He noted, first asked about AC Milan’s interest in particular: ‘I would tell him (Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Milan senior advisor) first of all that I am a big fan of his, I have always liked him as a player.

‘Milan is a great club, second only to Real Madrid in history. I would tell him that I have to speak to the agent and the family, then I will tell him know.

‘It’s true, I have offers from these three championships (Serie A, Bundesliga, Premier League). Staying at Chelsea? Is it an option, I still have a contract with them that expires in many years.’

Would Armando Broja suit Everton?

Given Dyche’s preference for a tall, strong, physical frontman, Broja certainly fits that mould.

And the fact that Beto and Youssef Chermiti are two of the former Burnley boss’s three total permanent Everton signings, his desperation to find someone to fulfil that role, especially with Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s uncertain future, is evident.

Last season, the Englishman scored just seven goals, but his work rate and the focal point he offers is priceless.

If he is to depart this summer, Broja would certainly be able to fulfil that vacancy, perhaps even adding even more to the squad with Iliman Ndiaye set to join Everton too.

His physical process and speed combined with the tricky nature of the Senegal international could see them strike up a fine partnership, and it is worth noting that the Chelsea man currently ranks in the top 1% for successful take-ons per 90 when compared to other strikers across Europe.

Meanwhile, during his best season yet, out on loan with Southampton, his six goals were also buoyed by the 2.8 aerials he won per 90 as well.

For comparison, Beto would only manage 1.6 per game in the Premier League last season.

Although his £30m price tag might be lofty, it could be worth a calculated risk on the 22-year-old.
