Daniel Andersson, sports director at Malmo, thinks that Sead Haksabanovic, who they recently signed from Celtic, can make decisions about games and will work well in the lineup.

The Montenegro international was transferred by Celtic to Swedish team Malmo on Wednesday for an alleged €3.5 million, following his season-long loan at Stoke City.

Having participated in the Champions League with Celtic in 2022, the 29-year-old will provide valuable Champions League experience to the Malmo squad.

The sports director of Malmo responded to the signing by stating that Haksabanovic is a player who can make independent decisions about games.

According to Andersson, Malmo also anticipates the former West Ham star to play a variety of offensive positions for the group.

“Sead is a very good player who can play in many offensive positions”, Andersson told his club’s official website.

“He’s been a bit brave lately and is now very keen to play for us and show what he can do.

“Despite his relatively young age, he has international experience playing at the highest level from many different countries and leagues.

“He has top qualities to decide matches, while at the same time, he is a player who works hard for the team.

“We think Sead will fit well into the team building.”

Haksabanovic’s arrival at Celtic created considerable enthusiasm, but he was unable to establish himself or earn a regular starting spot at Parkhead.

It is unknown if Celtic has incorporated a sell-on clause in the agreement in case he excels at Malmo before going on to play for another team.
