On Thursday, Brian Anderson will start in place of Jarred Kelenic for the first time in his Braves uniform.

The Atlanta Braves open a four-game series against the Washington Nationals on Thursday, with Brian Anderson getting the start for the first time since joining the team. For Atlanta, lefty Mitchell Parker will get the start, while Reynaldo Lopez will start for Washington.

One day after hurting his wrist after a diving grab in the sixth inning of Wednesday’s game in Boston, Jarred Kelenic is not in the Braves lineup on Thursday. After staying in the game at first, Kelenic was pinch-hit for in the eighth inning. After the game, Brian Snitker stated that, while he thought Kelenic was fine, he is still not starting. With Kelenic out, Adam Duvall will go to left field, with Anderson starting in right. Sean Murphy, who is batting sixth, is also back in the lineup. After being struck by a pitch during Tuesday’s game in Boston, Murphy left the game.
