According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Tottenham is interested in signing Nottingham Forest star Murillo as they aim to bolster their defense this summer.

Senior writer Pete O’Rourke said Spurs will be monitoring Forest’s profit and sustainability (PSR) position as they consider a move for the center-back in an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, which was released earlier today.

O’Rourke admitted the 21-year-old could be one of the players sacrificed to help Forest comply with the financial rules, with Tottenham one of several top clubs monitoring his situation.

Murillo has impressed since arriving at the City Ground for £15million from Corinthians last summer, with his contract set to run until 2028.

Football Insider previously revealed Nuno Espirito Santo’s side would be looking to receive a “huge” fee to sanction an exit for Murillo once the transfer window reopens.

Murillo is one of several players Forest could face a battle to keep given the promise they have shown over the past season.

The Brazilian is the one who could receive the most attention after Tottenham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG are all believed to be monitoring his situation.

The Reds need to turn a profit of almost £30 million from player sales in the upcoming weeks, or else they run the risk of breaking the financial regulations once more this season.

Spurs are among the teams trying to take advantage of the circumstances, as Football Insider disclosed on May 29 that they are preparing a bid to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi, a star at City Ground.

The English winger scored eight goals in 29 Premier League appearances across the latest campaign, with reports suggesting Forest are now looking for around £30million to sell him this summer.

Football Insider revealed last month Spurs are also eyeing a move for Morgan Gibbs-White after holding talks about the possibility of signing the Reds’ £60million-rated attacking midfielder.
