Glen Little, a Burnley icon, thinks that contenders would find the Turf Moor managerial position to be extremely appealing.

The Belgian left East Lancashire to succeed Thomas Tuchel at Bayern Munich, and the Clarets are currently looking for his replacement.

Craig Bellamy, Kompany’s assistant, has been designated interim head coach; Mike Jackson will stay on at Gawthorpe to support him.

Alan Pace and the board, however, remain on the hunt for a permanent boss that will be tasked with guiding the club back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Burnley has a good roster for the Championship and will be among the favorites to win promotion after a dismal season in which the Clarets were demoted with just 24 points.

Because of that, Little believes there will be plenty of interest in the post.

“Usually if you’re getting a job in the Championship, the reason you’re getting it is because you’re down at the bottom fighting relegation, you haven’t got a good squad, haven’t really got a lot of money to spend and so on,” the 48-year-old told the Burnley Express.

For instance, you might be wondering, “Well, what chance have you really got?” when you watch Wayne Rooney enter Plymouth.

“However, you’re getting hired here at Burnley, where you’ll most likely be the team that wins the Championship.

Everyone is aware of what occurred a year ago. Although Ian Maatsen and Nathan Tella will be missed, there are still a lot of talented players there, so they have a great opportunity. If you make the appropriate appointment, I still want us to be right up there. I have us winning the league once more.

“What a chance this is for someone.”

Even though the new season doesn’t begin until the beginning of August, Little thinks it’s critical that the club appoints someone quickly.

The new season will soon arrive after the Euros are over, he said. “There are so many names, but the one thing you want to do is sort it out quickly so they can get in, sort the summer out, and have a good pre-season.”

“The Championship will shortly begin, and we’ll see if we can make it through the difficult slog. I continue to believe that this is a fantastic opportunity to start over.

“Sean Dyche and Vincent Kompany, our two managers, have helped us rise back up twice in a succession after we have fallen. If this were a hat-trick with a third different manager, I wouldn’t be shocked.
