According to sources who spoke to Football Insider, Nottingham Forest will accept a £4 million offer for Joe Worrall this summer because it would result in pure profit for them.

Senior journalist Pete O’Rourke disclosed that Sheffield United and other Championship teams had expressed interest in signing the 27-year-old during a recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

As the summer transfer window approaches, Forest is on the verge of exceeding its permissible PSR losses and is anticipated to offload many players in order to balance their books.

Although Nuno Espirito Santo’s team avoided relegation, they will need to raise money in order to make roster improvements over the summer.

Worrall, who played on loan at Besiktas for the second half of the 2023–24 season, is one player who may be leaving City Ground.

Nottingham Forest to receive PSR profit from Worrall sale

“With Joe Worrall now back, I think Forest will be open to offers for him – there will be a lot of clubs looking at him as a cheap option,” O’Rourke stated in an interview with the Inside Track podcast.

Clubs will be able to sign him for around £4million but Worrall has two years remaining on his deal so it will have to be on his terms too.

It might not be a huge transfer fee, but a sale will be pure profit on the books because he’s a homegrown player.

There is a bit of interest from Sheffield United and other Championship clubs in him.

Forest will be looking to sell players who do give them that potential of bringing profit in, which would help towards them making signings of their own.
