Player justifies leaving Burnley and the Premier League by saying, “It wasn’t difficult.

Burnley tried their hardest during the summer transfer window to get Dodi Lukebakio from Hertha BSC to improve their assault.

After a spectacular promotion, the forward was available for transfer, and Vincent Kompany, a fellow Belgian, wanted to keep assembling his Clarets team with players he knew to prevent relegation from the Premier League.Dodi Lukebakio rejected offers from Italy and Spain - Get German Football News

Burnley had expressed interest in Lukebakio, but the 25-year-old decided to sign with Sevilla instead, explaining his choice in an interview with Marca on Tuesday.

Despite not having the best La Liga season during the 2022–23 season, Sevilla more than made up for it by winning the Europa League in a contentious final against José Mourinho’s AS.

The midfielder is directly questioned by Marca regarding Burnley’s interest in the Premier League and his decision to relocate to Spain.
“Because they demonstrated interest, so when a club like Sevilla demonstrate interest, of course you have to pay attention,” he retorted. Then, we had a lengthy conversation. Because they are a good club and that is what I want, to play to progress as a young player, you don’t need to think too hard about it. It wasn’t hard to decide on Sevilla.

“At the time we spoke, I was viewing a lot of YouTube videos, such as the one from when they won the most recent Europa League, and I also noticed that last season’s circumstances weren’t ideal, particularly in the early going.

I have been watching Sevilla, and interest peaked in January as well. I’m not an expert in everything, but I do know a lot about Sevilla. I enjoy watching football a lot.

Lukebakio has only played one 29-minute cameo for Sevilla since his arrival and choice to reject Burnley, but he made the most of it by scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas.
