It looks like West Ham United has a chance to complete an absolutely amazing summer transfer window deal.

The summer transfer window holds great significance for both West Ham United and our upcoming manager, Julen Lopetegui.

In addition to having a ton of signings to make this summer, the 57-year-old Spaniard is also responsible for developing some of the gifted young players into the starting lineup.

Since David Moyes will be leaving an aging and highly imbalanced squad behind, I believe Lopetegui should concentrate his transfer business on players between the ages of 19 and 23.

The big problem for the former Wolves boss will be signing all the players he needs without a massively lavish transfer budget.

He will definitely have to be thrifty in his player recruitment, and keep his eye out for any bargains that present themselves.

And they won’t come much better than this…

West Ham can seal bargain £13m summer transfer window deal

One area of the squad where Lopetegui really needs to strengthen is his central midfield department.

The Spaniard needs to bring in more quality competition and cover for Edson Alvarez. And it seems like he has a golden opportunity to do just that for a really reasonable fee.

According to Nice-Matin, Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram could be signed for an unbelievable bargain this summer – just €15-20 million (£13-17 million).

The 23-year-old is a long-term transfer target for West Ham, and Lopetegui has do do absolutely everything in his power to bring the Frenchman to the London Stadium this summer.

In 25 Ligue 1 games for Nice this season, the Frenchman has bagged one goals and one assist. During those appearances, the 22-year-old has averaged 1.6 tackles and 1.3 clearances per match. He has made 41.2 passes per game on average and has recorded an impressive completion rate of 87.2% (Who Scored).

He has power, pace, energy, dynamism and athleticism in abundance – all attributes that we severely lack in the middle of the park.

For just £13 million, or £17 million at the very most, West Ham cannot go wrong by signing Thuram in the summer transfer window. Let’s hope that Lopetegui gets it done.
