Following the conclusion of the Championship season, the most recent Sunderland transfer headlines from around the internet

We have a lot planned at Sunderland as we head into the summer after the Championship season ended.

In addition to looking for a new head coach, the Black Cats are anticipated to be busy in the transfer market, with a number of rumored ins and outs already. Here, we examine the key transfer stories from today that you might have missed:

Blades eye Patterson

Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson is again attracting transfer interest ahead of the summer transfer window with Sheffield United now linked.

According to recent reports, the Blades, who were recently relegated, are preparing a “ambitious” £8 million approach for Sunderland’s top player.

Ian Poveda linked

Ian Poveda, a forward for Leeds, is apparently being pursued by a number of teams, including Sunderland.

After spending the second half of this season on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, the 24-year-old will become a free agent this summer when his contract with Leeds expires. Other Championship teams are reportedly interested in signing the Colombian international back, but Wednesday is eager to do so on a long-term basis.

Chris Rigg latest

Chris Rigg, the young wonder from Sunderland, has once again been connected to a move out of the Stadium of Light.

According to a story from The Sun, this month Rigg will be with the England under-17s in the “shop window.” The adolescent was looked at by Manchester United last summer, while the German powerhouses Leverkusen and Dortmund are said to “fancy” him, according to The Sun.

Chris Willock attracting interest

With his contract at QPR expiring in June, Chris Willock has been linked to the Black Cats as a summer transfer.

Norwich City, a rival in the Championship, is rumored to have entered the competition to recruit the former Arsenal player as well. After the regular season, the Canaries qualified for the playoffs. This Sunday, they will play Leeds United in the first leg of their semi-final at Carrow Road.

Regardless of whether they get promoted this season, reports suggest that Norwich may try to sign Willock. Willock, 26, is the brother of Joe Willock of Newcastle United and was chosen as QPR’s Player of the Year at the conclusion of the 2021–2022 season.
