Gers were furious about the choice because they were not informed until this morning.

The match between Raging Rangers and Dundee was called off due to a flooded pitch, and the players responded with a harsh message.

When the players and personnel from Ibrox arrived at Dens Park this morning, ahead of their scheduled kickoff time of 12pm, they were disappointed to learn that the game had been canceled following two surface inspections. Manager Philippe Clement concurred that the decision was correct, and referee Don Robertson gave an explanation of how he prioritized safety. But the Belgian’s explanation that the club only learned about possible problems this morning rather than earlier was disappointing.

The Glasgow giants claim it “reflects poorly” on the Scottish game considering it was a clash set to be broadcast on Sky Sports and they questioned why their hosts refused to correspond earlier to give them heads up about any problems.

A Rangers club statement read: “Rangers FC, on behalf of our supporters, are extremely disappointed and angered with the late call-off of today’s match with Dundee FC.

“The first-team have prepared as normal for the match, and it was not until this morning that any concerns over the playing surface were raised.

“It is not understood why the home club did not raise those concerns in a more timely manner, given the reoccurring issues they have had with their playing surface at earlier points in the season.

By the time a decision was made, many of our followers and the Rangers squad had already arrived at the stadium.

“This is the only match in the entire UK senior leagues to be postponed this weekend, and given it was to be shown on Sky Sports nationwide, reflects poorly on our game.”
