The most recent addition to Crystal Palace revealed what has surprised him since joining the Eagles in the winter transfer window.

Despite having only signed a month and a half ago, Adam Wharton has already made a name for himself in the park’s center, next to Jefferson Lerma.
Roy Hodgson was his manager when he first arrived, but that soon changed once Oliver Glasner moved in last month.

He has maintained his position in the team and looked strong in the middle, so it hasn’t given him any issues.

Now, he’s made an admission over what has surprised him most since moving to Selhurst Park.

Adam Wharton admits what’s surprised him at Crystal Palace

Speaking to club media while in Marbella on the warm weather training retreat, Wharton had the following response when asked about his time so far at the club.

“Really good, really enjoying it, settling in really well, better than I thought I would.

“Yeah just enjoying every day, playing, improving, getting better, getting to know the lads better and yeah it’s just all going really well.”

Seeing that Wharton is enjoying his time here and thriving while having took a risk in making the big move is encouraging and is the type of mindset we need.

Wharton looks the part for the Eagles already

After costing £22m, expectations over the 22-year-old have been high, but he’s showing signs that he will be worth the fee and then some through his first few games.

While he may not be a shoo-in as a starter for the entire time, Cheick Doucoure is likely to be selected ahead of him upon his return.

This won’t be a problem however, as it takes the pressure off Wharton and allows him to adapt and hone his craft before taking on the mantle of starring in Glasner’s team.

That being said, Wharton has looked natural if a bit raw in thus far, but he was signed for the long term, and he’s shown enough to convince us that he has a future here.
