Leicester City face a potential points deduction in the Premier League next season should they make an instant return to the top-flight, according to reports.

The Foxes are currently top of the Championship with Leeds only five points behind them with 11 games left to play. Enzo Maresca’s side have saw their monumental gap at the top cut down in recent weeks after losing their last three games.

But according to The Sun, City is being questioned by Premier League and Championship teams for two instances of breaking Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. Clubs reportedly believe that City violated the £105 million loss cap set by the top flight for the three years that concluded with the previous campaign.

It is also expected by rivals that Leicester will lose more money overall than the £83 million they can lose in the years that conclude with the current campaign. However, the report does state that they might be able to avoid punishment if they are promoted back to the Premier League.

Despite losing their last three games, City is still atop the Championship table, five points ahead of Leeds United in third place.
