Because of problems with late payments to HMRC, READING FC anticipates receiving another point deduction from the English Football League (EFL).

Because the Royals did not pay their employees on time in 202, they have already lost four games this season. Since Dai Yongge became leadership of the team in 2017, they have already lost a total of 16 points.

The team led by Ruben Selles has been playing well over the past few months and has risen to 16th position in the standings; nevertheless, a new deduction would put them back in the running for relegation.
It is suspected that during the past year, the owner has neglected to pay HMRC bills for over 100 days, exceeding the 80-day limit stipulated by the EFL regulations.

With just eleven League One games left, Reading is trying to maintain its standing in the division.

The squad will have lost a total of 18 points under Dai Yongge’s leadership after a fresh two-point deduction.

Next up for the team is an away trip to bottom of the table Carlisle United on Saturday which will see more than 1,300 Royals fans make the trip up north to support their side.

The EFL has been contacted for comment.
