As he approaches his injury comeback, Marc Guehi has been in the media spotlight, talking about Oliver Glasner’s arrival at Crystal Palace.

Oliver Glasner has become an immediate favorite at Crystal Palace this week, and supporters are looking forward to Saturday’s matchup with Burnley.

It’s likely that Glasner is still dealing with some serious injuries, most notably to Marc Guehi, Eberechi Eze, and Michael Olise. Despite these absences, it is hoped that he can begin his tenure at the club this weekend with a victory.

Ahead of the game, Glasner shed some light on his footballing philosophy which has only got fans more excited as he highlighted goals as the most important thing to him.

Guehi was raving about his new manager in the interview and admitted that Glasner has already laid out the plans for how he wants to play.

“He’s a great guy,” the English centre-half began. Before continuing, “he and his staff have been fantastic since they’ve come in, [they have] laid down their plans and laid down their intentions, so yeah the first few days have been positive.”

Guehi then explained that he’s aware that Glasner intends to play attacking football, adding that this is a mindset already implemented by the Austrian.

“He’s got a very attacking style, we’ve seen that with Wolfsburg and with Frankfurt and we know how much success he had in Europe with Frankfurt in particular. The manager definitely wants to score goals, he’s already implemented what he wants from us on the training pitch a little bit so everyone’s excited about the future.”

Finally, Guehi was asked about Glasner’s preference to play three at the back, to which he denied this is the case but did admit that the squad are already won over by the new boss.

“I don’t think he’s limited in one formation that’s for sure, it depends on the team, it depends on what he wants to get out of the game. But regardless of what formation or how we play, everyone’s excited and everyone’s definitely bought into what he wants to bring to the club.”

Glasner already deeply involved in training at Palace

So ahead of the weekend, Glasner has no doubt been trying to mould the team into his image at Copers Cope. This won’t be a quick process, but we do expect to see some sort of signal this weekend.

The images which have emerged of Palace in training are very encouraging to see, with smiles and the players seeming to take a real interest in what Glasner is preaching.

With a vital game in which three points are necessary this weekend, Glasner has no time to waste. We cannot wait to see the end result on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
