Despite having some talented young players at his disposal, Hodgson’s Crystal Palace team has barely won any games this season, and the team’s performance has been dismal overall.

However, analyst Chris Sutton now asserts that Palace, who are also off of form, have enough talent to hurt Arsenal, and he explains what Hodgson might try to do to win at the Emirates.

According to Chris Sutton, Hodgson will do nothing against Arsenal. Sutton said that Palace had ways to affect Mikel Arteta’s team in his BBC Premier League predictions column.

“Crystal Palace went out of the FA Cup against Everton on Wednesday but they definitely had one eye on this game with the substitutions Roy Hodgson made,” Sutton claimed.

“You know what Hodgson will do here – he will shut up shop and try to frustrate Arsenal, then hope to get something on the break, a lot like the Eagles did against Manchester City before Christmas.

“They have the quality to hurt Arsenal that way, but I still think this game is more about whether the Gunners can find a way through Palace’s defence.”

In the Everton loss, as well as in the most of Palace’s games this season, there wasn’t much to suggest that the team is prepared to pull off an unexpected victory—especially without Michael Olise—but they have performed well against challenging opponents.

Palace won their away match against Manchester United, were extremely unlucky to lose with ten men against Liverpool after taking the lead, and heroically rallied to draw against Manchester City.

In the early kickoff in North London, Palace is a significant underdog, but the defense—Marc Guehi and Joachim Andersen in particular—stands out more on major occasions.
