Shackleton has been an important part of Daniel Farke’s plans this season, with the Leeds manager using the midfielder in a variety of roles.

Shackleton agreed that being a versatile player had its advantages, but that not being able to commit to a particular position is not ideal.

However, the Leeds midfielder claimed that he always strives to give his all, regardless of the position to which he is assigned.

“I think so personally,” Shackleton remarked on the Official Leeds United Podcast when asked if being so adaptable may be a problem.

“It is also advantageous to be able to do it because it brings opportunities to various places that other people may not be able to obtain.”

“However, it has drawbacks, such as not being able to settle into one ideal position.”

“At the same time, wherever I am asked to play, if someone says, ‘Go do a job there,’ I will do my best.”

Shackleton has appeared six times for Leeds this season, most recently as a left-back against Sheffield Wednesday.

A Leeds United fan has been sentenced for assaulting Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe at Elland Road during a match between the two clubs.

David Derbyshire, 35, of Marley Street, Beeston, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and a six-year football ban at Leeds Magistrates Court.
