Blackpool will use the January transfer window to bolster their roster.

The Seasiders, who are presently ranked seventh in League One, have their sights set on catching up to the teams that are in the play-off spots.

According to Critchley, a variety of circumstances may influence when any prospective newcomers decide to relocate to Bloomfield Road this month.

He stated, “You’re always waiting on other clubs because you want to take a player off them, so they get a say on things as well, so things aren’t always in your control.”

“It’s a shifting jigsaw from day to day, and clubs sometimes want to keep players around for games because they can have illnesses or injuries.

“Ideally, you want the players in as soon as possible so that you can begin working with them; but, there’s a difference between what you desire and what you can obtain.

“Any window should be completed stronger than when it was begun. We discuss our goals with one other and have identified specific parts of the field that I think would be beneficial for us to improve, but it may mean that one or two of your players would want to play regular football somewhere else.

“A lot can occur, but regrettably, you cannot forecast it.

“You’re always more vulnerable to offers from elsewhere knowing that your players may be available in a few months when you have players like we do who are nearing the end of their contracts.”
