Tottenham Hotspur are still interested in signing Conor Gallagher.

The Chelsea midfielder was a prominent target for Spurs last summer, with the north London club reportedly making a £40 million deadline day approach for the England international.

Tottenham are once again associated with Gallagher, and according to Fabrizio Romano, there is a clear reason why they want to sign Gallagher.

Indeed, Romano claims on Kick that Tottenham want Gallagher because Ange Postecoglou adores him, adding that the Australian feels the 24-year-old is great.

Postecoglou view on Gallagher

Romano revealed his knowledge about Gallagher.

“Does Tottenham like and value Conor Gallagher?” Surely, Tottenham attempted to sign Conor Gallagher in the summer? What drew Tottenham to Gallagher? Because, according to what I am hearing, Ange Postecoglou is in love with the player and believes he is a quality player, Tottenham clearly value Gallagher, but are Tottenham and Chelsea in talks with Gallagher? Right now, at the start of January? “No,” Romano replied.

Signing Gallagher may be more said than done, but we think the Spurs should do everything they can to get this one done.

Ange Postecoglou has more than demonstrated that he is worth backing in the transfer window, and if he believes Gallagher is the guy to rebuild this team, Spurs must make a move to bring him in.

Of course, dealing with Chelsea is difficult for Tottenham owing to the animosity that exists, and Gallagher has also been an important player for the Blues this season, so this trade may have to be filed in the unlikely column.

However, when there’s a will, there’s a way, and if Postecoglou truly does love Gallagher, Daniel Levy needs to get on the phone and try to negotiate this deal with Chelsea.
