Tuesday’s 3-0 Premier League loss to Bournemouth saw Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno appear to push a ball boy, but his manager said that was not the case.

Leno looked to nudge the ball boy during the second half as he hurried to receive the ball from him. At the time, Leno had already been given a yellow card, and Fulham was losing 2-0.

Even after expressing regret to the ball boy, the 31-year-old Germany international continued to face taunts from Bournemouth supporters over the remainder of the game.

About the event, Fulham manager Marco Silva commented, “I do not know if it was instruction or not, but the ball boys were always delaying.”

“Bernd grabbed the ball from the ball boy in an attempt to play fast. He apologized and said it was not strong enough to force him.”

Bournemouth easily defeated Fulham thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke, Luis Sinisterra, and Justin Kluivert, moving them up into the top half of the league.
