Sandro Tonali, a midfielder for Newcastle United, has been putting a lot of effort into his English, and his rigorous classes are paying off as the suspended Italy international adjusts to his new surroundings.

Dan Burn has shared that Sandro Tonali’s proficiency in English has become ‘remarkable,’ alleviating the challenges posed by the initial language barrier during the banned midfielder’s settling-in phase at Newcastle United. Tonali, who arrived from AC Milan last summer, faced difficulties adapting to life outside his homeland, compounded by a 10-month suspension for betting breaches in October.

Undertaking intensive English lessons, the 23-year-old credits the ‘support’ of teammates and manager Eddie Howe for aiding his communication, which was initially ‘extremely tough.’ Although Tonali is sidelined until August, the improved ability to converse with those around him proves crucial as he actively engages in daily training and interactions.

Although Burn said the players had nothing to do with it, Tonali has really become quite popular in the dressing room after visiting the Job Bulman in Gosforth a few days after scoring on his debut against Aston Villa.

Concerning the purported hoax, the defender informed the Fozcast, “I want to tell you it’s true, but it’s genuinely not.” “I’m not sure how it came about.

“I don’t know if it was someone he’s known and he just said, ‘I need to go to a restaurant’ because I’m pretty sure if you type in the area that he went in on TripAdvisor, Wetherspoons would be near the top just because that many people go to it.

“It’s quite a classy Wetherspoons to be fair to him. The fact that he had rang up and booked a table, the lads were onto him.

“When he first came, his English wasn’t great so it was quite hard. You want to involve him in everything, but it’s quite hard because you can’t speak, whereas his English now is unbelievable. I was speaking to him the other day and I was like, ‘Wow, your English is a lot better than I thought it was!'”
