Bryan Heynen believes he can repeat as champion at Ibrox. He was a member of the Genk team that won the title under Clement.

The new Rangers team under Philippe Clements has been informed that when they run out on the field, they must exhibit the same amount of passion that their manager does off it.

Bryan Heynen, a mainstay of Genk, was a member of the team led by the new Ibrox coach in 2019 when he won his first Belgian championship. And he is supporting his former boss to have the same impact on the Light Blues as he did when he guided the Smurfs to their lone league championship in the previous ten years.Heynen is a huge admirer of Clement and his practical approaches to managing players. However, he cautioned that it does not mean he will accept players who perform poorly. “I first met Philippe when he came to Genk from Waasland Beveren,” the Genk skipper said to Record Sport. He is a nice and sincere individual. Even though I couldn’t play at the time due to an ACL tear, he was still genuinely curious about how I was doing.

“The club was in ninth place in the table and struggled halfway through the season when he joined. However, we won the following season, so you might say he had a significant influence!

“He has excellent man-management skills, understanding that a team consists of more than 11 players.” Because he made sure that everyone was involved, even the players who don’t play as much were in a good mood with him.

“The championship season we won was made possible by his leadership.” The players always understood what to do because he always had a very clear gameplan.

As a committed coach, he anticipates the same level of devotion from his group. He wants you to battle for the emblem on your breast and give it everything you have on the field, but he also wants you to play excellent football.

“He has outstanding man-management skills. He understands how players think on the field and what happens when they deviate from their instructions because he was a high-level player himself.

“I have complete faith in his abilities to lead a team the magnitude of the Rangers. I’m not sure how quickly the players will adopt his style of play, but Rangers is a great team with great players, so they will undoubtedly be able to adjust.

“I am acquainted with a few players on the Rangers team. I competed against Nico Raskin and with Cyriel Dessers. They will probably love it, but I believe that about every member of the team.

Pierre Denier, meanwhile, thinks Clement is the perfect person to make Ibrox fail. The former right-hand man of the new Rangers gaffer thinks that Cyriel Dessers has found his lost magic. Denier assisted the Belgian manager in leading Genk to their lone league title in the previous ten years in 2019.

A year later, Clement left to take over at Brugge; by then, Dessers had relocated to Genk to work with Denier. The seasoned Smurfs coach is confident that with Clement’s assistance, Dessers can eventually succeed in Scotland because he knows both individuals as well as he does.

“I know the striker Dessers,” he said to Record Sport. A few years back, he was in Genk with us. Although he doesn’t seem to be enjoying himself in Glasgow, I believe Philippe’s presence will only benefit him.

“I firmly think Philippe will strengthen him and enable him to return to his peak performance. Dessers has the ability to score goals, and I believe that with Phillippe as his coach, he can elevate his game above what it is currently displaying.

Cyriel is a player whose confidence fluctuates, but now that he has a coach from Belgium he knows, I believe you’ll see him get stronger. Both in the locker room and off the field, Philippe is an excellent people manager. He’ll ensure that the group gels into a cohesive unit.
