According to a report from RMC Sport, Sunderland has apparently entered the competition to re-sign former French international Yann M’Vila on a free transfer.

After joining on loan from the Russian team Rubin Kazan, the Frenchman played the entire 2015–16 Premier League season at the Stadium Of Light, where he contributed to six goals in 37 league games.

After his time with the team ended, M’Vila stayed in Russia for two years before joining Saint-Etienne in January 2018. He stayed with the team for more than two years before leaving on a free transfer to Olympiacos. After his contract with the club expired in the summer, he was let go.

The midfielder has played in almost 500 first-team games in his professional career, has assisted on 45 goals, and has participated in events like the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League.

M’Vila has reportedly had bids from a number of unknown parties, according the report from RMC Sport. Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion, Atletico Madrid, Le Havre, and Istanbul Basakesehir are the five clubs identified with interest, with the Spanish team (Atletico Madrid) being named as the favorite.
