Is this the real reason David Moyes gave a scathing answer to a reporter on the air regarding West Ham player Jarrod Bowen?

When it comes to football managers, West Ham United manager David Moyes is one of the few that can be regarded as ‘old school’.

On Thursday night, the Hammers’ honest as the day is long Scot added another achievement to his CV as he led his team to a 2-1 win over Freiburg in Germany, setting a new English record of 17 games unbeaten in European competition.

Another of Moyes’ triumphs on the field has been discovering Jarrod Bowen’s talent and assisting him in becoming an England international. Bowen was called up to Gareth Southgate’s newest Three Lions team just hours before West Ham’s game against Freiburg.

But Moyes raised eyebrows before the game when he took issue with a question from TNT Sports journalist Archie Rhind-Tutt. Moyes took issue with what appeared to be a harmless query concerning Bowen’s England call-up.

Bowen’s England return was mentioned by Rhind-Tutt, who then asked, “What are the qualities that have made him stand out in your team?”

Moyes answered by saying: “Well I’m not going to answer anything about Jarrod getting in the England team before a West Ham cup game tonight so let’s keep to the West Ham questions please.”
