The 19-year-old winger tore Nottingham Forest apart at moments during Monday’s thrilling 1-1 draw at the City Ground.

The Italy Under-20 international, who joined Turf Moor from Espanyol for a reported £2.3m price in the summer, was extensively involved in the game’s opening goal, rinsing Joe Worrall for pace by the touchline before having his pullback dispatched clinically by Zeki Amdouni.

Because to Koleosho’s outstanding performance on the left wing, Forest manager Steve Cooper felt obligated to take Argentina World Cup winning full-back Gonzalo Montiel off early in the second half.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy, who was commentating on the game for talkSPORT, was impressed by Koleosho’s performance.

“He tormented Montiel in the first half,” halftime host Adrian Durham stated.

“Based on what we’ve seen in the first half, he could be the steal of the century.”

“But what he’s got is wonderful pace, a willingness to run without the ball into space which you always need but not every winger wants to do that. When you’ve got those two attributes, you’re a problem.

“He’s happy to go on his left and go inside, he’s a real problem for the full-back. He looks completely free, he looks like he’s really enjoying himself.”
